HOW AIRBRUSH TANNING WORKS

Airbrush tanning is not a dye. The primary ingredient in the tanning solution works with the amino acids in the top layer of your skin to produce a natural tan exactly like the sun, but without damaging your skin.

Our airbrush tanning formula won't rub off on your clothes, once the tan is set. Airbrush tanning fades gently, just like a real suntan. Airbrush tanning is safe and FDA approved. Fair skin will tan with airbrush tanning. Sunburns from tanning may be a thing of the past. Our Airbrush Tanning produces a golden brown color. There is no embarrassing orange discoloration or waiting for it to fade before your big event. With us you can sunless tan the day before and be ready for that special occasion without the worry or the wait!

BETTER THAN MISTING BOOTHS AND CREAMS

Misting booths provide no control over where the misting tan ends up. The results may be flawed, blotchy and orange discoloration. You are usually required to wear a shower cap, which can leave a strange tan line along your hairline. And misting booth tans at salons can be very expensive, ranging from $25 to $85 per application.

Tanning creams applied by hand often result in an uneven, unnatural tan. They leave hands stained with a deep orange color or, if you wash your hands after applying, can leave your hands without any color, leaving you with an odd tan line at your wrists. Streaky, blotchy color may also occur.

Is it safe?

Yes. The main ingredient in our sunless tanning solution is known as dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA is a simple, non-toxic sugar. It is often derived from plant sources such as sugar beets and sugar cane. DHA is FDA approved for cosmetic use. As with any use of cosmetics, allergic reactions are rare, but can occur. Talk to your doctor before spray tanning if you have any known skin condition.

How long does a session take?

At the first appointment, we will take about 10 minutes for a complimentary consultation. At this time we will answer any questions you may have and choose the intensity of your tan (light, medium or dark). After that, the actual spray session will take approximately 10 - 15 minutes.

How should I prepare for my tan?

Your body should be free of all "barriers" that may interact or interfere with the absorption of our solution such as lotions, deodorant, perfumes or colognes. Please do not use moisturizing body wash prior to your session. We suggest shaving/waxing and exfoliating 24 hours before your appointment to ensure the best results. Wear dark, loose clothing, NO JEANS on the day of your appointment. You may tan in whatever clothes you like depending on what tan lines you desire, if any... If you wear a swimsuit, we recommend dark colors. Men must wear at least a thong at all times. Clients under the age of 18 must wear a swimsuit and have a parent or guardian present.

How can I maintain my tan?

The solution will need 8-12 hours to fully develop. During this time, you will want to avoid getting wet and sweating excessively as this can cause an uneven tan. Some clients choose to sleep with the solution on, which is perfectly okay. We suggest dark pajamas and sheets as some bronzer may rub off. After this time, you are free to shower as usual. The bronzer will wash off with your first shower and you will be left with a gorgeous, natural-looking tan. Your tan will start to fade as your skin normally exfoliates. We suggest moisturizing daily (two times a day is even better!). Refrain from any activity that promotes the exfoliation of your skin such as rough towel drying, etc. Once your tan has completely faded (about 10-12 days), you are ready to start the preparation for your next session. Results will vary depending on skin types and maintenance. Ciao Bella Salon carries a variety of after care products to maintain your sunless tan.

Do I still need to wear sunscreen?

Absolutely! Spray tanning provides no protection from the sun.

A fine blend of exotic aloes, which assist in hydrating porous areas of the body (such as hands, elbows, knees and feet). This product enables the sunless tanning solution to penetrate uniformly into the skin, resulting in a longer-lasting, more even sunless tan. May also be used as a treatment after too much sun to soothe irritated skin.

Shimmer Spray: ($10 at same appt. $15 for separate appt.)
This is the ultimate glamour tan applied to your shoulder area. Ideal for parties, clubbing, or any other special events, it is applied over your tan to add a gorgeous shimmer that will make you shine. This shimmer is temporary. It will wash off with your next shower.

Anti-Aging Elixir: ($10 at same appt. or $35 as a treatment)
A skin rejuvenating treatment made with exotic plant extracts, antioxidants and botanicals to uncover the skin’s natural radiance. This treatment is ideal for use after sunless tanning session.
